Ladybird Class supports pupils from Years 3 to 5 and focuses on developing communication skills and learning through play within a nurturing and structured environment. Learning is carefully planned to be engaging and meaningful, allowing pupils to explore, interact, and develop at their own pace.

As the second class in the school, Ladybird Class builds on the strong foundations established in Squirrel Class (EYFS). Pupils are supported as they begin to take their next steps in learning, using familiar routines, play‑based activities, and adult‑guided interactions to promote confidence and curiosity.

Communication is central to daily learning, with pupils encouraged to express themselves, make choices, and engage with others in ways that are appropriate and meaningful for them. Through play‑based and experiential learning opportunities, pupils develop early independence skills while continuing to feel safe, supported, and understood.

Staff work closely with each pupil to recognise individual strengths, ensuring every child’s progress is valued and celebrated.
